There are lots of so-called veggie burgers on the market. Some are fine for reversing heart disease, but others not.
The first thing to look for is fat percentage. Some of those products are as high as 50% calories from fat (CFF). Keep below one gram of fat per every 100 calories.
Second is a careful examination of the ingredients. Some have cheese, others egg. And a few have refined grains or questionable additives. These are not good for reversal - cross them off your list.
That still leaves many acceptable products. Boca Burger has a vegan burger, but that's not the one usually found in many supermarkets and wholesale discounters (Costco / Sam's Club). Garden Burgers, the pioneer of veggie burgers, has some that are vegan, others low fat and pure veggie - but they also have some that don't meet our strict requirements. Try 'health food' or natural food stores.
I've been on this reversal program for 15 years. Things are much easier now, but one still has to use caution and read labels carefuly.
