Subject:	Had to Share the Good News - Esselstyn's Program Works!

I am so excited, and just had to share with you my good news. Perhaps it will encourage others in their efforts to reverse heart disease and provide some hope for at least one person struggling with the whole heart reversal lifestyle change idea.

Just seven weeks ago, on April 26th, I read Dr. Esselstyn's book (for the first time) after seeing discussion about it the day before at this wonderful site. I am a 52 year old male with six children and four grandchildren. Two of my children are still at home - one is 11 and the other just 5 years old. Living for them and for my wife is my greatest motivation to stay with the Esselstyn program, and I have literally been eating to live - for them!

I had just been released from the hospital five days earlier, after nearly (I came within an inch of by-pass) going under the knife for triple by-pass surgery - due to two 80 percent blockages and my right artery being totally occluded. Since the first day I read "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" I have faithfully stayed with Esselstyn's program. Over the last eight weeks I have reduced my weight from 231 to 199. And today's cardiology clinic visit provided the first time that my cholesterol numbers have been checked since my hospitalization eight weeks ago. Here is what they reported. My total cholesterol had dropped from 212 to 71; my LDL dropped from 152 to 30; and my triglycerides dropped from 143 to 54. WOW! And in just seven weeks on the Esselstyn heart disease reversal program. I was expecting the numbers to drop, but honestly, not that much. When my cardiologist entered the room she just looked at me and said, "Okay - tell me! What is your secret?" I asked her what she meant and she added, "Your cholesterol numbers are phenomenal!" I had brought Dr. Esselstyn's book with me to the clinic, and so I simply began to tell her what I was doing and why I was doing it, as she thumbed through the book. By the time the visit was over she had written everything down and wanted the website address to order his book. Amazing! Friends - it really does work!
