Hi Ricardo,

Thank you for your follow up to my question on Feijoada. By your post I have violated all the rules about the dish as I enjoy it for dinner sometimes and usually don't separate my dishes.

I prepare my dish as follows:

1 pound of cooked dried beans
3 jalapeño of other fresh chiles (like my dishes hot)
1 large onion
6 cloves of garlic
4 28 0z cans of plum tomatoes
hot sauce to taste

Saute the onions, jalapeno and garlic in the juice from the tomatoes until onions are translucent.

Add black beans, hot sauce and tomatoes and simmer for about 45 minutes.

I serve with brown rice, greens (kale is my favorite).

I find this really simple, satisfying and easy to prepare. This usually yields 6 to 7 individual portions.

Your recipe sounds very good and I will be cooking it soon. I will let you know how it turns out.

Enjoy!

Best,

Herman
