Don't I Need Meat to Be Strong?

QuestionSome of my friends insist that they experience weakness and lose stamina without meat in their diet. I've worried about this as I continue to cut down on all animal products. Will I eventually find that my exercise program, mostly jogging and walking, will be compromised?

AnswerI'm virtually certain that you can enjoy the best of both -- a plant-based diet and aerobic exercise. Some of the best athletes I've known, including marathoners and body builders are vegans. As for myself, I've remained physically active since I became a vegetarian 15 years ago. I've never felt better. I strongly suspect the weakness perceived by some who discontinue meat is the result of a lifetime of brainwashing by the meat industry.
